United Church Homes Announces New Chief Growth Officer

United Church Homes announced that Teresa “Terry” Spitznagel, BSSW, LSW, MHA, will join the organization Feb. 10 as chief growth officer, a newly created position that replaces the chief operating officer role at UCH.

UCH Executive Leader Retires after 40 Years in Healthcare Management and Senior Living

Chuck Mooney, senior vice president of senior living services and chief operating officer, will retire from United Church Homes in December after seven years of service to UCH and a fulfilling career in nonprofit senior living and healthcare management that spans four decades.

Ohio Living Telehealth Program Achieves 7.5% Hospital Readmission Rate

Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice has achieved a 7.5% all-cause hospital readmission rate using remote patient monitoring and telehealth software from Health Recovery Solutions (HRS). In the first quarter of 2019, Ohio Living's all-cause readmission rate of 7.5% was nearly half of Ohio's Medicare average of 14.9%.

WMKV Commemorates D-DAY 75th Anniversary With Peabody Award-winning Special

“D-DAY + 75” - What Americans Heard on the Radio June 6, 1944

On June 6, 2019, public radio WMKV 89.3FM and WLHS 89.9FM will commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day with a 12-hour broadcast saluting veterans and their families. The 1995 Peabody Award-winning production is a collection of actual news broadcasts - what Americans heard on their radios during the day and night of June 6, 1944.  The broadcast will air continuously from 8:00am – 8:00 pm, pre-empting regularly scheduled programming.

Ohio Living Offering New Services for Chronically Ill

Ohio Living has expanded its continuum of care with the launch of palliative care services in the greater Toledo market. Palliative care is defined as aggressive pain and symptom management for patients with chronic illness. Palliative care is most appropriate for those with an average life expectancy of one to two years if the chronic disease were to progress as expected.

United Church Homes, Ohio’s Hospice Join Forces to Expand Care

United Church Homes (UCH) and Ohio’s Hospice are teaming up to form a new not-for-profit joint venture Medicare-certified hospice program. United Church Homes residents needing hospice and palliative care soon can receive services provided by Ohio’s Hospice at United Church Homes while remaining in the comfort of their community. The new partnership aims to expand service offerings, improve care coordination and provide individuals facing serious illness with improved in-residence care.

Long-time Judson Services, Inc. President and CEO Cynthia H. Dunn announced her plans to retire effective June 1, 2018.  Dunn has been with Judson for four decades, serving in various positions. She was named president and CEO of Judson, a Cleveland-based not-for-profit organization, in 1992.
